A Soulful Stay at TIA Wellness Resort: Our Mother-Daughter Wellness Week

Floating breakfast at TIA Wellness

Wellness isn’t always found in silence and solitude. Sometimes, it’s in the laughter by the pool, the pause between conversations, or a quiet ritual shared with someone you love. This was the essence of Bahar Etminan’s four-night stay at TIA Wellness Resort in Da Nang, Vietnam, with her daughter – a luxurious and deeply personal escape that became a powerful mother-daughter reset. More than just a spa getaway, TIA is a place where modern wellness meets soulful connection, gently unfolding at your own rhythm.

Travelling with a teenage daughter is never just about the destination. It’s about finding the right rhythm, the pauses between activities, the shared discoveries, the freedom to be together without trying too hard. Our four nights at TIA Wellness Resort in Da Nang over the Easter break, gave us exactly that.

From the moment we checked into our private pool villa, we felt the shift. The world slowed. We moved at our own pace, sometimes together, sometimes in our own wellness bubble. For me, the mornings were for movement, Tai Chi, yoga, breathwork. For Lilly, languid sleep ins followed by a private dip in our oversized villa pool.

Afternoons unfolded with the hum of rituals together: spa treatments, gym, swims in the main pool, fresh coconuts or detox elixirs and listening to music in the cabana area. Everything at TIA is designed to support rather than structure. The atmosphere is refined, not flashy. Every detail is considered but not superfluous. We felt that we started to breathe deeper and be more present.

One of the most unexpected joys of TIA is its location. At first, I was confused to see us pull into the resort off a main highway, flanked by other properties. But once inside, you feel cocooned in calm, sleek architecture and landscaping, but you’re just a short ride from Da Nang’s energy and Hoi An’s World Heritage Site magic.

The Ana

A few evenings, we ventured out after sunset, into the lantern-lit laneways of Hoi An, where we stumbled upon a riverside restaurants with a perfect view of the floating procession of boats and lanterns, vintage boutiques, celebrated tailors, and street vendors that stopped us in our tracks.

Lilly, a photographer, lit up in the night markets bustling riverside and charming alleys. We tried everything from grilled coconut pancakes to dragonfruit slushies. We wandered, we tasted, we laughed. Closer to the Hotel, we explored the vibrant city of Danang by night, choosing local restaurants and even visiting a very wonderful cat café, serving delicious boba teas and desserts to die for.

TIA’s Wellness Inclusive model meant we each enjoyed two treatments per night booked, and the freedom to choose what our bodies and moods needed. One day I surrendered to a bamboo roll-out massage; the next, a deep reike session. Lilly alternated between facials, massage and energy treatments. The therapists are gentle, skilled and intuitive. Treatments feel personal, not prescribed.

Meals at TIA are a highlight. Nourishing without fuss, though breakfast and their seafood buffet were gastronomic affairs. Overall, the menu offers dishes that are light, fresh, and full of flavour. We devoured Vietnamese herbs, broths, ginger and turmeric shots, and inventive salads. Green mango and prawn being our favourite. We loved starting our mornings with tropical fruit , chef prepared pho or omelette, followed by strong, creamy Vietnamese coffee served with condensed milk and coconut cream. It became a ritual we looked forward to each day.

Some of our favourite moments weren’t on the itinerary. Floating in the pool, talking about everything and nothing. Curling up with a book after lunch. Taking turns reading each other’s creative journal prompts in bed. We didn’t just come to reset, we came to connect. And, we left with both.

TIA isn’t a retreat, and it’s not a luxury resort either. It’s something quieter, smarter, more modern. A space where mothers and daughters, friends, or solo travellers can just be. Without pressure. Without noise.

We came home with clear skin, light hearts and the kind of closeness that only happens when you truly have time for yourself and in turn for each other. Sometimes wellness doesn’t need to look like anything. It just needs to feel like this.

TIA Wellness Resort offers more than treatments and tropical views, it offers space. Space to reconnect with yourself, with a loved one, and with what truly matters. With no pressure to be productive or follow rigid schedules, it gives you the freedom to slow down, breathe deeply, and just be.

We didn’t just leave feeling rested, we left feeling reconnected, replenished, and more present than we’ve felt in a long time. Sometimes wellness doesn’t need to look like anything. It just needs to feel like this.
