Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, Bunker Bay
You’ll want to rise early for a barefoot beach walk and return in time for a long breakfast with ocean views. Days can be as active or as relaxed as you like, with kayaking, coastal walks, or spa sessions all within reach. The resort is home to Vie Spa, a destination in itself, offering ocean-view lounges, nurturing rituals, and plenty of space to simply be.
Empire Retreat & Spa, Yallingup
Empire Retreat isn’t just a place to rest your head, it’s a sanctuary for the senses. Set amongst 265 acres of rolling vineyards and native bushland, the property feels grounded and grown-up, like it has been here for centuries. The stone and timber lodge is effortlessly elegant, with raw textures, moody lighting and a softness that immediately encourages you to exhale.
I stayed in the Farmstead Suite, a stunning, secluded haven complete with an outdoor stone bath overlooking the vines. Morning birdsong, evening stillness, and a soaking ritual under the stars. Heaven. Inside, high ceilings, earthy tones, and curated pieces from the owners. Every global suite feel considered and calming.
Empire Retreat is the kind of place where you walk slower, sip longer, and truly exhale. Days begin with slow breakfasts in the timber-framed lodge and end with a glass of wine by the fire. In between, there’s spa time (more on that below), forest walks, or simply the joy of doing nothing in a space designed for deep rest.
The onsite Empire Spa elevates the experience. It’s intimate and peaceful, with thoughtful rituals like the Metamorphosis Lift & Sculpt facial, a collagen-boosting, fascia-releasing treatment that lifted more than just my skin. Paired with a sound healing session, I left glowing and grounded.
Smiths Beach Resort, Yallingup
The words barefoot luxury were made for places like this. Nestled just behind the dunes of one of W’s most stunning beaches, Smiths Beach Resort is both stylish and completely unpretentious. Think clean lines, limestone walls, vast skies and salty breezes wafting through floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
I stayed in a two-bedroom pool villa, and it was hard to leave. A fully equipped kitchen, expansive balcony with ocean views, and a layout that offers both connection and space. Everything here whispers relaxation, from the comfortable over-sized beds to the luxe bathrooms (yes, there’s a tub, and yes, you’ll use it).
Lamont’s Restaurant is just steps from your villa. Long lunches turn into golden-hour drinks. The seafood is as fresh as the ocean breeze, and the wine list is as local as it is curated. And if you’re feeling active, you’re on the doorstep of the Cape to Cape Track.
Olio Bello Lakeside Glamping, Cowaramup
Arriving at Olio Bello feels like stepping out into the Italian country-side. Manicured rows of Olive Trees, gently rolling hills and safari-esque tents glowing warmly against the dusk. This is not just glamping it’s immersive, soul-filling stillness.
Each tent is beautifully appointed, and named after an particular Olive. With wood finishes, a thoughtful kitchenette, a king-sized bed and eco-luxury touches throughout (such as heated flooring in the bathroom).
The best part? The deck overlooking the lake, perfect for sipping coffee watching the morning sun turns the lake into liquid gold. Massages and spa rituals are delivered right to your tent, using the property’s own olive oil blends. Yes, wellness therapists come to you, setting up massage tables under canvas while the sounds of nature provide the soundtrack. It is grounding, glamorous, and deeply restorative.
At the cafe you’ll find simple, flavourful meals made with love and produce grown metres from your table. Olive oil cakes, woodfired pizza, farm salads and the kind of people who smile from the heart. Their new skincare line lets you take a little of that slow living home with you.
Chimes Spa Retreat, Denmark
From your private suite or deck chair on the lawn, you’ll watch light dance across the inlet or the sunrise over the ridge. Breakfast and afternoon tea is served daily, and you can make use of the ebikes on site to explore the local vineyards and restaurants.
Make sure you have time at Chimes Day Spa. Begin with a private contrast therapy circuit – a sequence of sauna, steam and plunge that awakens the senses. Then experience a slow, soulful ritual of massage, facial or grounding bodywork. Everything is done with purpose, and the care shown by the therapists is as restorative as the treatment itself.
Heyscape Tiny Cabins, Denmark
Inside, you’ll find clever design, plush bedding, fire pits, and (if you book the right one) a stunning outdoor bath where the night sky becomes your ceiling. It’s the kind of place where you journal again. Where time expands. And where simplicity feels deeply luxurious.
A short stroll leads to The Dam, one of the region’s most exciting farm-to-table dining experiences. Locally distilled spirits, native botanicals, and food made with care round out your unplugged escape.
