Alba by Kuruvita
Built on the site of the original ‘Noosa White’ sand quarry, try exotic flavours at Alba by Kuruvita, a venue that combines a pizzeria, café, providore, bar and restaurant. It even features a Chef’s Kitchen where they host Chef’s Table Experiences, which are unique small, private dining experiences.
The restaurant is brought to you by Peter Kuruvita, an award winning chef, TV presenter and author, who infuses modern cuisine with global flavours, including those from his cooking experiences with his Grandma in Sri Lanka.
This cute hole in the wall coffee shop serves you with coffee, doughnuts and flowers with an onsite florist to give you not only a morning coffee boost but some flower power for the day.
With two locations, the one in Noosaville is particularly great to pass by before continuing for a pleasant morning stroll with your coffee along the wide paths along the river, a great start to the day.
Known by locals as a top eating strip, you can catch a ferry to Noosaville’s Gympie Terrace. The Noosa Ferry is a scenic, relaxing and eco-friendly way to get around Noosa, with seven stops along the length of the Noosa River including Gympie Terrace. The ferry operates 8am to 6pm (every 45 minutes) between Noosa Marina (Tewantin) and Hastings Street (Sofitel Jetty).
You’ll find a diverse range of cuisines to choose from along this strip along Thomas Street, including 250 Grammi for authentic Italian. The ferry also stops at Noosa Sound where you can experience some fine cuisine by the Noosa River such as Rickys Restaurant and Bar, for European food and Rock Salt for stylish Modern Australian.
Noosa Food Tours
Perhaps you’d like to go straight to the source of the ingredients of the meals you have had at Noosa cafes and restaurants. You get the chance to sample these on the Creative Tours food tours. For example, on the Friends of Alba tour, you get to visit the local producers of ingredients together with a cooking class hosted by Peter Kuruvita.
On the Noosa Food Trail, visit a local coffee roaster, a local chocolatier, local seafood providore, gourmet tomato farmer and more.
